Saurer India has bid farewell to one of its most respected industry leaders, as Ashok Juneja, Director – Sales and Services, steps into retirement after more than four decades of service to India textile engineering landscape. His journey, beginning in 1981 and marked by unwavering dedication, technical brilliance, and visionary leadership, stands as an inspiring chapter in the evolution of modern textile machinery in India.

Juneja began his career at Vardhman Group, where hands-on shop floor exposure laid a strong foundation for his practical understanding of manufacturing and machinery. His shift to installation, servicing, and later sales of textile machinery broadened his expertise and led him to join Kirloskar Toyota Textile Machinery (KTTM). As one of the pioneering members of KTTM’s India operations, he played a central role in establishing the company presence and successfully delivered milestones such as the first India-made KTTM ring frame installation at Vardhman.

During his 18-year tenure at KTTM, he rose steadily to the position of Vice President – Textile, managing full P&L responsibilities while building robust Sales, Service, and After-Sales teams. His strategic approach sped up the adoption of advanced spinning technology and strengthened confidence among Indian mills.

At Saurer Textile, Juneja continued to drive transformation. His contributions were instrumental in establishing the company India manufacturing base and achieving significant breakthroughs, including the first India-produced Saurer Ring Frame and the first Speed Frame equipped with an Auto-Doffer. Through technology showcases and close collaboration with spinning clusters, he elevated customer engagement and reinforced Saurer standing as a trusted partner.

Juneja has also been deeply active in several industry bodies, including TMMA, ITME Society, IFTA, TITOBA, and The Textile Association (India), where he served roles from Life Member to National President. Known widely as a mentor, he has shaped many careers with his guidance and encouragement.

As he steps into a new phase of life, Juneja remains committed to knowledge-sharing and nurturing the next generation, leaving the industry richer with his contributions and his enduring vision for India textile future.
